Engineers manage projects from concept through completion by applying technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. They design, test and refine systems or products while ensuring work meets safety, quality and performance standards. Common duties include: Identifying technical challenges and defining requirements for solutions Developing detailed blueprints, models or code to support project designs Building prototypes or early versions of products to test functionality Running performance tests under real-world conditions and refining designs as needed Creating project timelines, estimating costs and coordinating across teams to keep work on track Preparing technical reports, manuals and design specifications for all collaborators Applying industry standards, safety codes and regulatory requirements to all engineering work
